About two semesters ago I was in a meeting with some foreign friends, I started to talk to an American who was on exchange for one semester on campus. Something that caught my attention too much was when he started to talk about safety. He referred to a fear he felt at the time he was going to the banks, shopping malls, even his residence, this due to the number of policemen he was constantly seeing. Meanwhile at the airport he said that safety was similar.
We are very different societies even though we are territorial neighbors and share so much history. He in his country rarely mentioned that there were lots of police guarding banks, or shopping centers. He spoke about the police of his country and the image of confidence that rarely the Mexican police gave. In other words they are a safe society but still has its gaps as every society because none is perfect.

Now what kind of society we are, for a long time is constant talk of insecurity in our country nowadays we are looking for new ways to protect ourselves and feel safe in our environment, something that is totally different from the U.S. talking specifically in the police since it seems that instead of give us safe is totally the opposite , whenever it's midnight and goes a patrol near, instead of feeling protected is completely different and what happens is that they give us a sense of mistrust and fear.

We are society that already have a permeated consciousness of feel insecure and be wary of public policemen including me in this aspect while on the other side of the coin in the U.S. is completely the opposite by comments from friends that already travel to that country. So where does it enters the political marketing, it’s very simply, on the fact of giving different images and perceptions to society, because in Mexico constantly says that the fight against insecurity is gaining to try to change that feeling that affects us all up creating a fear but just it will be very difficult to erase.
