Latin vote

The Latin vote has become a key factor for the presidential success since 2008, so I must add an important investigation made by Pew Hispanic Center in 2012 in order to represent the power that has been growing since that date for the Hispanic vote for the elections. In the electoral period of 2012 almost 24 million of Hispanic voting were registered for the election representing a record number, that’s why the candidates that are trying to win the presidency are focusing more and more in achieve good relations with this Hispanic society. In this investigation the results illustrated that the electoral map aims that the Hispanics have an important role and can make the difference in states like Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Carolina and Virginia. Here is where the Democratic Party enters and have made interesting strategies in order to won more votes.

We must not forget that the Latin community prefers to give its vote to the democrats (Barack Obama) because the Republicans have approved initiatives against the undocumented people mainly Mexicans. So which were the strategies that selected the Democrats for achieving votes, in the first place the spot they send in spanish. Barack Obama send a message to all the Latin society in spanish including spots of radio and television in that particular language. This tactic attracted millions destined to recruit voters. With this method, the Latin society felt a sense of recognition because of the language, I believe that this was the most influential approach for gaining votes, I rely on that this was the perfect example of political marketing so with this, he created a link between the Hispanic people and the president Obama that sends an image that he concerns about the immigrants’ rights.

Also there were several approaches for maintaining and gaining more voters, so I´ll focus in one more. For example, the Dream Act that was another political method consisting in giving opportunities to the undocumented people for gaining their citizenship. With this new report, many of the Mexicans, I must illustrate, saw a new opportunity for the welfare of their families and for themselves, because for the first time they won’t be persecuted by the authorities anymore and for the first time in their lives they will feel safe but the most important factor here is that they won’t be discriminated but that is only in theory.

In conclusion we can affirm that the Democrats and Obama organized a perfect political marketing in order to maintain and gain more votes than the Republican Party, nevertheless if Obama doesn’t accomplish the promises he said to the Latin society the voters could react and vote against the democrat’s next presidential election.
